Vosges truffles are made from the finest ingredients offered around the world. We personally choose every spice, flower, and chocolate that is flown into our Chicago kitchen. Delicate attention to detail is the premise for Vosges truffles. Vosges Haut-Chocolat was started in October 1997 by two partners, Katrina Markoff and Julie Ruedebusch. As grade school friends and past business partners (Gourmet Delights - a dessert catering service founded as a high school enterprise), Katrina and Julie embarked once again on another culinary adventure.




      Katrina Markoff       Vosges Chocolatiers utilize the original methods of French confectionery artistry. Our Chef, Katrina Markoff graduated with the Grand DiplÔme from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris and worked extensively in France and Spain. Some of her experiences include apprenticeships with pastry chef Christophe Felder at the Hotel Crillon in Paris and Fernando Adria at El Bulli in Spain. She continued her studies in Europe, Asia, and Australia graduating from various culinary schools including The Oriental Cooking School in Bangkok.





            Inspired by her global apprenticeships, Vosges truffles have exotic influences of an "East meets West" theme. The infusions of rare spices and flowers combined with premium chocolate give a delicate balance of flavor insuring you the best tasting truffle in the world. During Katrina's studies at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, she fell in love with the cuisine of the Michelin three star restaurant, L'Ambroisie. L'Ambroisie resides within the square of the distinguishing, red building facades that make up the Place des Vosges. In addition, Vosges is a 'Haut' mountain range in Alsace. Thus, the inspiration for the name, Vosges Haut-Chocolat.




      Julie Ruedebusch       Julie Ruedebusch, who is responsible for Vosges outside of the kitchen spent time studying the import/export industry while living in Costa Rica. During this time she mastered the best sources around the world to purchase the exotic ingredients that make Vosges truffles so unique. Julie uses her extensive knowledge of regional food resources to help Katrina determine which new flavor combinations can meet the high quality standards of Vosges, ensuring that each new experience is another exciting adventure of the Vosges journey.
